Flood Watch issued June 5 at 4:04AM EDT until June 5 at 10:00PM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...District of Columbia, in Maryland, including the following areas, Anne Arundel, Central and Southeast Howard, Central and Southeast Montgomery, Northwest Howard, Northwest Montgomery, Prince Georges and Southern Baltimore, and in northern Virginia, including the following areas, Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria, Central and Southeast Prince William/Manassas/Manassas Park, Eastern Loudoun, Fairfax and Northwest Prince William. * WHEN...From noon EDT today through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms will move across the area today into this evening. Coastal Flood Advisory issued June 5 at 7:29AM EDT until June 5 at 9:00AM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC * WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level in low lying areas due to tidal flooding. * WHERE...Shoreline in the District of Columbia, Arlington County, and the City of Alexandria. * WHEN...Until 9 AM EDT this morning, especially around the time of high tide. * IMPACTS...Shoreline inundation is expected along portions of the seawall adjacent to Ohio Drive and the Hains Point Loop Road, and near the Tidal Basin and Jefferson Memorial. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides between one half foot and one foot above normal. The next high tide at Alexandria is at 7:49 AM. The next high tide at Washington Channel is at 7:31 AM. If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
